Help OpenMind magazine fight for science!

OpenMind is a new nonprofit digital magazine designed to guide the public through today's fog of science confusion, controversies, and deceptions. We publish investigative essays at the crossroads of culture and politics, working to bring the benefits of science to the widest possible audience. Our mission is not just fighting against misinformation, but fighting for science-based actions that will improve people's lives.

WHAT WE DO:

Since our launch in April of 2022, OpenMind has pushed back against misleading science stories in the media, offering our readers crucial context and concrete solutions. Topics we have tackled include: the faulty economics blocking action on climate change; the true, messy history of lab leaks; practical ways to rein in toxic social-media algorithms; and moral manipulations that distort science policy. This year, we received a Pulitzer Center grant for "Misinformation in Mind," a series of articles, podcasts, and videos that tackle the biggest issues in psychology and neuroscience. And we are just getting started.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Your tax-deductible donations will support a new campaign of public-service essays written by a talented, diverse group of journalists and experts. You will also help us launch initiatives like BS Alert, a column and podcast examining the methods behind science misinformation. The more you give, the more we can fight for clarity and smart solutions.
